I met my cousin Simon here for drinks during my visit this year This was once the Gaumont Cinema in Plymouth. This is where I was when the assassination of President Kennedy was announced to the world The Lido on Plymouth Hoe was a favourite place for me in my mid teens Tinside on Plymouth Hoe was also a regular swimming area for me as a teenager Beautiful colours More wild colours I loved the walking in the Lake District of England. Feeling very relaxed here On the right is Sheila, and ex crew member from the Mediterranean. Here she is with her sister Carol Relaxed during a long walk Local residents Lambing season is a great time to be in the Lake District Stunning and dramatic scenery Sheila and I hit a local Fish & Chip shop for lunch! Glad she brought a bottle of ketchup! My daughter Jessica is an Assistant Producer at the BBC Derby radio station My grandaughter Katie with her partner Ross Great dinner in my hotel room tonight - a Smoked Bacon, Stilton, West Country Farmhouse Mature and vintage Cheddar Cheese Quiche from Lidl, plus banana and After Eights! Fabulous!
A very memorable 3 weeks in the UK. Highlights were staying with Keith and Ann in Havant, attending the navy reunion in Fareham, visiting the Submarine and Fort Nelson Museums at Portsmouth, staying and walking in my birthplace, Plymouth, walking in the Lake District with Sheila, staying in Hartlepool and visit to the HMS Trincomalee Maritime Museum with Sheila and attending the 2015 Family Reunion in York.
